Rail construction in Rose Canyon suspends weekend Amtrak and Coaster service

COASTER-Construction-Banner-Rail-ClosureFrom North County Transit District: COMPLETE RAIL CLOSURE SATURDAY & SUNDAY OCTOBER 3-4, 10-11, AND 17-18; no Coaster or Amtrak service between Oceanside and Santa Fe Depot.

Rail service interruptions are scheduled for the weekends of October 3-4, 10-11, and 17-18 along the coastal rail corridor from Oceanside to San Diego:

Saturday/Sunday, October 3-4:

COASTER – No Service.
Amtrak – No train service between Oceanside and San Diego (including 6 Rail-2-Rail trains). Regular service north of Oceanside. Amtrak will provide bus service for Amtrak passengers only between Oceanside and San Diego.
Metrolink -Regular Service.

Saturday/Sunday, October 10-11:

COASTER – No Service.
Amtrak – No train service between Oceanside and San Diego (including 6 Rail-2-Rail trains). Regular service north of Oceanside. Amtrak will provide bus service for Amtrak passengers only between Oceanside and San Diego.
Metrolink – Regular Service.

Saturday/Sunday, October 17-18:

COASTER – No Service.
Amtrak – No train service between Irvine and San Diego (including 6 Rail-2-Rail trains). Regular service north of Irvine. Amtrak will provide bus service for Amtrak passengers only between Irvine and San Diego.
Metrolink – No train service between San Juan Capistrano and Oceanside. Regular service north of San Juan Capistrano.

During the service disruption, the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) will perform work on the Los Peñasquitos Lagoon Bridges, the Bridge 243 Scour Repair project and the Elvira to Morena Double Track project in University City http://www.keepsandiegomoving.com/Lossan/elvira_to_morena.aspx. In addition, NCTD crews will be performing normal maintenance to track and bridges north of Oceanside on October 17th and 18th.
