From State of California, Department of Transportation: Construction crews will close northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from Nobel Drive to Mira Mesa Boulevard Tuesday-Thursday nights from 9:30 PM until 5 in the morning.
The closures are required for placement of bridge concrete and falsework, a temporary bridge support system used during bridge construction. Motorists traveling north on I-805 will be detoured to westbound State Route 52 (SR-52) and then to northbound Interstate 5 (I-5). Local Traffic will be permitted to exit I-805 at Governor Drive and Nobel Drive.
Motorists traveling north on I-805 from La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road, Nobel Drive, and Governor Drive may take southbound I-805 to westbound SR-52 to northbound I-5. Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from SR-52 to Mira Mesa Boulevard.
The project also includes construction of a Direct Access Ramp to and from southbound I-805 at Carroll Canyon Road. Additional improvements include bridge widening and ramp modifications. This stage is estimated to cost approximately $86 million.
