Scripps Health has teamed up with Standley Park Recreation Council as a major sponsor for their popular outdoor summer concert series on the lawn of Standley Park, 3585 Governor Drive in University City (92122). Bring a picnic and chairs or blanket and enjoy the outdoor concerts. Visit the Standley Recreation Center website for more information.
Sunday concerts from 5-7 pm:
July 13 – Bayou Brothers featuring cajun and blues
July 20 – The Generations of Jazz Concert with Roadhouse playing swing & classic songs from the Great American Songbook and featuring a full set of modern jazz from the UC High School Jazz Combo
July 27 – Forecast featuring contemporary jazz and fun with UC’s Greg Pardue
Aug 3 – Relative Minors & Friends featuring classic rock, oldies with UC’s Greg Zinser
Aug 10 – 3 Chord Justice featuring country
Aug 17 – Old Skool featuring classic rock and oldeies with UC’s Bob Bishop
Friday night concerts from 6-8 pm:
Aug 22 – Teaser featuring 80’s & 90’s with UC’s Rick Kern
Aug 29 – The Legends featuring 50’s & 60’s rock n roll and oldies
